This post highlights my favorite PEMF mat from Healthy Wave.

I had been looking for a crystal heat mat to use while car camping in cold weather, but I hadn’t been able to find one that was low in EMFs. I was delighted when my frequency healing mentor Rebecca Dru of Frequency Fixx shared the Healthy Wave brand of PEMF mats.
Healthy Wave uses an advanced filtration system and extra EMF-blocking layers to make sure the user isn’t exposed to unhealthy EMFs while obtaining the benefits of red light, negative ions, crystal therapy, and PEMF (in certain units). Because of my MCAS, I am especially sensitive to EMFs, yet I recognize the benefits of far infrared heat and PEMFs.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is a chronic condition that affects all organ systems. MCAS is serious and disabling and people with MCAS experience often significant and debilitating symptoms daily, including anaphylaxis, which can be fatal.
MCAS is often found in combination with other chronic conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
Frequently healthcare providers do not know about MCAS, and the tests for MCAS are problematic because they are not uniformly reliable. MCAS can be difficult to manage. Treatments include blocking mast cell mediators with anti-histamines and mast cell stabilizers and avoiding triggers.
Check out this post on how to manage MCAS.
Far infrared heat therapy uses crystals including amethyst, jade, and tourmaline, which, when heated create far infrared heat that penetrates 3-8 inches into the body. This far infrared heat can improve blood flow and microcirculation where applied. It can also help temporarily relieve minor muscle, joint pain, and stiffness. This relief of joint pain has been associated with helping arthritis, muscle spasms, minor strains, and improved relaxation.
Far Infrared light is found in the electromagnetic/light spectrum. It heats your tissues directly and its wavelengths can reach deep inside you. This is beneficial for your blood vessels, increasing blood flow and circulation and improving bodily functions of the surrounding tissues. Far infrared light is also helpful for reducing pain, aiding in detoxification, and reducing inflammation.
PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field. A PEMF is created by running an electrical current through a copper coil and turning that electrical current off and off. Each time the current is turned off and on is considered one pulse and we then look at how many pulses per second are measured in Hertz (Hz). For example, a 10Hz PEMF has 10 pulses per second.
Some of the Healthy Wave therapy mats utilize PEMF in addition to far infrared heat, negative ions, and other technologies.
Healthy Wave PEMF mats come with 12 pre-programmed PEMF therapy modes. It also is completely programmable allowing you to design your own PEMF therapy programs. Its features include:
I purchased the Soft Amethyst Jade Tourmaline FIR Mat 72″x24″-Limited Edition to use for car camping and anytime when I’m experiencing a flare of inflammation. I like that it is lighter-weight compared to some PEMF mats. It is softer and can be rolled up so it is portable. You can get 10% off any Healthy Wave model by signing up for their email list. Like an infrared sauna, this mat offers far infrared, which is known to decrease inflammation and aid in healing. And I especially like that Healthy Wave has very low EMFs.
This model contains Three Crystals
The bucket theory offers a helpful analogy for understanding symptom reactions with MCAS.
Think of your body as an empty bucket that you want to keep from overflowing. Different foods and activities fill your histamine bucket at different speeds but they combine to form the total level of histamine in your body (how full your bucket is). A fuller bucket means you have more histamine symptoms. When you manage triggers, reduce exposure to known triggers, and take medications and supplements to reduce histamine, you can manage the level of your bucket.
Knowing your symptom progression in a symptom flare is the key to developing your own rescue plan. In this post, I discuss how to determine your own symptom progression. Once you know what typically happens in your symptom progression you can design a rescue plan to address those symptoms.
